Monette Larsen

Solrød, Denmark, *1984

Monette draws on the imagery and wonders in the living world around us as a foundation for her work. She explores the idea that what we perceive as beautiful in nature is linked to the human conscious or unconscious recognition of underlying patterns and structures.

She looks at molecular structures and mathematics while exploring her material and a variety of kilnformed glass techniques. She creates pieces that reference and hint at the natural world, intending the artwork to be a reflection on the living world surrounding us.

Monette holds a degree in glass art from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and a Master of Art from the Royal College of Art in London.

She has held numerous exhibitions throughout Europe. Her works can be found in the permanent collections of the Imagine Museum, St. Petersburg, Florida, USA and the National Glass Centre, Sunderland, UK.
