Marika Kinnunen

Finland, *1975

”I am inspired by the glass material and the possibilities and challenges it offers. Nature is reflected in many of my works.”

Marika Kinnunen graduated from Häme Vocational Institute/Wetterhoff in 2002. Working with glass fascinated her, and this was a determining factor in her decision to live and work in Nuutajärvi Glass Village.

She opened her own glassblowing studio, Lasitaivas, in 2004. Marika makes both small-series production and unique art glass pieces. She began her teaching career as a glassblowing instructor at Tavastia Vocational College in 2005. Marika Kinnunen is a member of Lasikomppania and the Nuutajärvi Gallery Cooperative NuGO, located in Nuutajärvi.
