Karen Browning has used glass as a recurring medium throughout her prolific career and is constantly experimenting by pushing the boundaries of her creative practice. Browning's innovative use of materials and processes combined with in-depth research results in physically reactive combinations. She has a degree in architecture, a master's degree in site-specific sculpture and in glass.

For many years she has worked as a studio assistant with leading glass artist Colin Reid. Since 2015 she has been elected a member of the Royal Society of Sculptors. In 2022 Browning won the British Glass Biennale.
