Hector M. Flores

Mexico

Hector M. Flores was born in Mexico City, and from an early age he was exposed to glass processing, which fascinated him. Consequently, he specialized in glass sculptures in Mexico and abroad. He has had several solo and group exhibitions in Mexico, the USA, Europe and Asia.

Of particular note are the solo exhibitions: Cosmos at the Museum of the Bicentennial Mexican Cultural Center in 2018 and Ancestors at the Museum of Modern Art of the State of Mexico in 2008, as well as the group: International Glass Biennale of Bulgaria at the Historical Museum of Sofia, Bulgaria in 2017 and invited artist at the Seto City Art Museum in Japan in 2014.

Hector M. Flores has received various awards, including a scholarship in Glass Carving, Engraving and Cold Construction, The Studio of the Corning Museum of Glass, N.Y. UNITED STATES. 2008. He is a Member of the National System of Art Creators of Mexico.

He also has teaching experience in Mexico, the USA and Bulgaria. His work is represented in collections such as those of the Museo del Vidrio Monterrey, Mexico. Eskişehir Glass Museum, Eskişehir, Türkiye. Seto City Art Museum, Seto, Japan, Geumgang Nature Art Collection, Korea and various private collections. And Hector M. Flores is also included in the Dictionary of 20th Century Mexican Sculptors.
