In the Seascapes series, Jurado’s paintings take on a photorealistic character, by adding and reusing nuances of gray, present in his early works. These continue to inhabit his Pop Art influences, clearly present throughout his career.
These paintings are unable to exist without making use of photography (also present in previous series of his). This time the artist uses his camera to capture specific images and gathers vital details, which are then transferred onto his canvases. With lots of patience and technical know-how, Jurado emits a photographic sensation which his meticulous results clearly show.
Landscape, a genre that has also characterized Jurado's previous work, once again appears as the target protagonist of this series. This time it evokes memories, nostalgia, thoughts and reminiscences. qualities that connect it with the current neo romantic concepts.
